Mutu fires Parma 
The Romanian forward scored his eighth goal of the season against Empoli to secure all three points and lift Parma into the top half of the table: 'I'm happy to stay here at Parma and I hope to honour my contract until it expires'.
At their 2003 debut at the Tardini Parma didn't disappoint their supporters. The Gialloblu clinched a 2-0 win over Empoli, with Adrian Mutu sealing it, after Gilardino's opener.
'We really wanted these three points', the Romanian tells acparma.com. 'We kept concentration high for the whole game and it paid off'.
Tell us about your goal. We couldn't see it very well because of the fog...
'It was a very good action. Adriano picked me out with delicious throughball and I dribbled the keeper before slotting home. A goal I will never forget because it gave us a great joy'.
Did the fog affect the play?
'Fortunately we could see very well on the pitch and had no problems. I'm sorry you couldn't do the same from the terraces, as the spectacle began to disappear into the fog. We didn't panick, although we were worried that the situation could even worsten.
Parma performance was different, compared to the previous one at Piacenza
'I have already told it last week: at Piacenza we didn't get a grip on the game for twenty minutes and we paid for this. It can happen during a season. I hope the supporters have forgiven us.
Gilardino had a starting place and scored at once. Prandelli can play different solutions...
'Alberto usually works hard in training sessions and I think he deserved this success: it's the right reward for his enthusiasm. I'm very happy with him. He really wanted to score'

'Don't think about it! We just have to focus on our football, we must excite our supporters. That's the most important thing.
