Stoica has great technical ability and it helped the midfielder to be crowned Belgian Young Player of the Year in 2001. Began his career with FC Steaua Bucuresti and is seen in his homeland as the playmaker to fill the void left by Gheorghe Hagi. Joined RSC Anderlecht when he was 16-years-old and has gone on to become one of their most popular players. The Romanian’s success in the 2000/01 UEFA Champions League campaign - four goals in eleven appearances - saw him become a target for a host of Serie A clubs.
